Hello it's Normcore again
Hello friends,
You're receiving this because you at some point signed up for Normcore Tech. Normcore Tech was a ZIRP (zero-interest rate phenomenon) Substack, fueled by the optimism of the creator economy internet. It included articles about Kafka and multi-armed bandits and neural nets from a human perspective.
In the post-ZIRP, social media apocalyptic collapse economy, I've been feeling a little lost in how to consolidate my online presence and where to share, and also wanted the ability to write in Markdown for portability and eventually move all my writing to my own domain, where a fair bit of it already lives.
So, consider this Old New Normcore Tech where hopefully I'll post some shorter things and news about what I'm doing sometimes, as well as my blog posts and maybe longer thoughts on what's up online.
- In September, I gave a keynote in Amsterdam at PyData (thank you for having me!!) on Neural network architectures and how they map to traditional software engineering. The transcription is here and the video is here.
- In October, I started a new job as a senior machine learning engineer at Mozilla.ai. Lots of exciting stuff is happening in the open-source LLM space and I'm excited to work on it and share publicly as we go.
Feel free to subscribe/unsubscribe and if you're still here, it's nice to see you again!
